This is the final installment of our three-part interview with artist and animator Kim Slate. The interview in it’s entirety can be found throughout the month of May in the Featured Artist link to the right.

What advice would you give to other artists or budding artists?
I guess I’d say it’s important to work on your own stuff even when circumstances are less than ideal. I go through phases when work is really overwhelming and I’m not producing any of my own work, and it actually stresses me out more. I think it makes it easier to deal with the stress of a job when you have personal projects to go home to.

What do you know now that you wish you’d known when you started?
Not to stress out so much!

What is coming up for you?
I’m currently working on a new art show that will be on display at the Compound Gallery in late fall. And I just started working on Laika’s newest project which will follow “The Boxtrolls”. Still too new to talk about.
Where can we find your work?
